Gateway Improvements
Our Q3 2024 Gateway firmware update, version 1.3.6, will enable switching between standard, X-Eye, LiDAR, and Weight sensor modes.
The standard mode for the Sensmi Gateway offers efficient data collection, device management, and real-time data processing for digital signage and retail analytics. It ensures secure connectivity, supports remote monitoring, and allows easy updates, making it ideal for retail management.
The new modes provide additional functionality and control.
The Gateway will also support two-way communication from the Sensmi portal for maintenance tasks like rebooting and mode changes. Additionally, the USB interface will be updated to fully align with Nexmosphere controllers.
All CMSs will recognise the Gateway as a Nexmosphere device without needing software changes.
Customer Spotlight: How Are Our Customers Using Sensmi?

Sensmi’s Innovations in the Mobile Industry
Our Systems Integration Partner works closely with leading Mobile Operators to understand customer flow within their retail stores. By utilising Sensmi and strategically placed Nexmosphere sensors and other analytics tools, they are able to measure customer flow and product engagement.
These analytics allow them to resource their store with consultants relevant to the services required at various times of the month, as well as any engagement shown of displayed handsets. This data is used to advertise their Top 10 handsets for the next month, across their network.
It provides “live” feedback regarding interest in-store, creating their unique customer store profiles, enhancing stock shaping and providing cost savings throughout their business.

Van der Valk
Sensmi assisted Van der Valk, a hotel and restaurant group, by integrating a new concept in their hotels, called the Van der Valk Shop, to measure traffic flow. It is a small boutique shop in the hotel where you can buy both local goods as well as standard hotel items.
To help the client understand the traffic flow in this area, we utilised Sensmi along with a basic Nexmosphere sensor (XY-240). This allowed us to track the number of clients passing by the shop, as well as those who approached the products and potentially made purchases.
Since these shops are usually located near the hotel entrance, we expanded the project by incorporating a Nexmosphere LiDAR sensor to monitor the number of clients entering and exiting the hotel store.
This data proved invaluable for the client in making informed decisions regarding staffing based on entrance traffic patterns. Additionally, the client could leverage this information to charge suppliers for advertising based on the foot traffic near their signage screens.
